The University Psychological Counseling Division at our university organized today, Sunday (May 17, 2026), a commemorative mourning council on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the inheritor of the Imams and the spring of wisdom, Imam Muhammad al-Jawad (peace be upon him), in the Imam Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) Hall in the center of the university campus.
The council commenced with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, recited by the College of Medicine student Ahmed Abdul Hussein, followed by a religious lecture delivered by the Husseini orator, His Eminence Sayyid Amir Al-Safi. In his lecture, he addressed the biography of Imam al-Jawad (peace be upon him) and stations from his blessed life, as well as the lessons learned from his fragrant biography regarding patience, steadfastness, and giving until his martyrdom by poison.
The council witnessed the attendance of the Assistant to the University President for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Kareem Abdul Raheem; the Acting Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lamiaa Abdul Kareem; college deans; a number of directors of functional departments at the university; as well as university staff and students.
This event comes as part of a series of cultural and religious activities that the university is keen to organize periodically, with the aim of consolidating Islamic values, enhancing awareness of the fragrant biographies of the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and recalling the occasions associated with them, due to their educational and spiritual impact in building the academic and human personality.
